Main Reducer Gearbox for Hot Strip Mills (finishing stands F1–F5)
Main reducers of the finishing stands of hot strip mills convert motor speed into rolling speed. They consist of the housing, pinion shafts, a welded gear wheel, bearings and eccentric sleeves, with single-helical or herringbone gearing. CGC supplies the full range for 1250, 1450, 1580, 1780, 2050, 2250 and 2300 mills: motor power 6,500–11,000 kW, ratios 1.43–5.43, output torque 706–2,804 kN·m, weight 36.8–76 t. Users of CGC metallurgical gearboxes include MMK, Severstal, NLMK, Evraz and BMZ.
